Entity Types

The type field specifies the legal structure of the entity being verified. Each entity type may have different verification requirements, required documents, and available subtypes.


Available types

individualA natural person. Used for individual identity verification.
companyA registered company or corporation. Includes proprietary limited companies, public companies, and other corporate structures.
soleTraderAn individual operating a business in their own name. The business is not a separate legal entity from the owner.
partnershipA business structure where two or more parties agree to share profits and losses. See entity subtypes for partnership subtypes.
trustA legal arrangement where a trustee holds assets for beneficiaries. See entity subtypes for trust subtypes.
governmentBodyA government department, agency, or statutory authority.
associationAn incorporated or unincorporated association. See entity subtypes for association subtypes.
cooperativeA member-owned business organization operated for the benefit of its members.
indigenousCorporationAn Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporation registered under the CATSI Act (Australia).
otherOther entity types not covered by the above categories.
